ENC 1101 (C. Smith): ILL

This is a guide for students in Professor Crystal Smith's ENC 1101 classes.

Interlibrary Loan

ILL stands for interlibrary loan, or in other words, requesting books from other libraries.

Other Options

If the book you want is not in the library catalog, talk to a librarian to complete your request.

Valencia students may borrow books from the UCF library. When visiting the UCF library bring:

  • your Valencia picture ID
  • a printout of your current course schedule

to the Circulation desk. UCF staff will issue a temporary borrowing card for the semester. Be sure to return your books on time, or a Valencia hold may be placed on your record, preventing you from getting your grades!

Requesting Books from the Library Catalog

The easiest way to request books from other libraries is to use the library catalog.

To access the catalog:

Login to Atlas.

Click on Search the Library on the top right-hand side.

By default the catalog shows books available at Valencia, but this option can be changed.

Use the dropdown menu to change Valencia to All 28 Colleges.

Use the dropdown menu to change All Items to Books.

When you find the book you want, select Request Item.
