Birth of Venus - Botticelli

Sandro Botticelli (1445-1510) was a famous Florentine Renaissance artist known for works such as The Birth of Venus.  In this lovely painting, Venus, the classical goddess of beauty and love, is created from the sea and stands on a scallop shell.
