If You Need To:

Get Help

If you need help finding something or using any of the library resources, just ask.  You can find articles, search the catalog for books and more, place a request to borrow, Ask-A-Librarian via chat or e-mail, access research tools and databases in person or via the Internet

Use a Computer

Go online, check e-mail, write a paper, create a presentation, or access online library resources from computer workstations in the library or by checking out an iPad or laptop.  Free Valencia Wi-Fi is available throughout the library including wireless printing.

Access Course Reserves

Visit the checkout desk on the first floor to get supplemental materials assigned by your professor.

Work on a Paper

The Computer Access Lab on the first floor has everything you need to make your work shine including Microsoft Office products and course-specific software.


There are plenty of study tables throughout the library.  Just grab one and hit the books, or head to the quiet study room 6-201B on the second floor.

Find  Loads of information is right at your fingertips:

  • Explore resources in a variety of formats: books, e-books, audio books, DVDs, videos, CDs and CD-roms, journals, magazines, newspapers, periodicals and more.
  • Information tools: computer workstations, iPads, laptops, Wi-Fi, wireless printing, course specific software, online research databases.
  • Interlibrary loans; borrow from libraries nationwide, including all Florida state colleges.

Ask  Librarians are here to help you.  Stop by the Information Desk on the second floor
         for assistance with:

  • Navigating your way around the library.
  • Exploring, finding, and using library resources. 
  • Deciding which resources would work best for your current project. 
  • Focusing your topic and research strategies for your paper.  
  • Understanding sources materials (primary vs. secondary, scholarly vs. popular, current vs. historical.  
  • Citing sources (MLA, APA, Chicago).

Do  Take matters into your own hands by using the tools that are available to you such as:  

  • Computers, iPads, laptops, Wi-Fi, printing, photocopying, scanning, CD and DVD burning. 
  • Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, PowerPoint.  
  • Course specific software in the Computer Access Lab.  
  • SPACE Student Production and Collaborative Education on the first floor including collaborative workstations, speech rehearsal rooms, and presentation software.
  • DVD, VHS, and streaming video viewing, headphones.
  • MLA and APA style guides.
  • Desktop Publishing for business and marketing plans, graphics, and brochures.
  • Rosetta Stone and Mango language learning software.
  • Testing and Education database to prepare for CLEP, ASVAB, and NCLEX.

Library Hours

Fall/Spring Library Hours

Monday - Thursday 
7:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Hours will vary during summer and between semesters.

Library staff are available during library operating hours. 
Reference Desk help is available on the 2nd floor.




After Hours

There's a lot you can do from home.  Log in to Atlas and under Courses tab, choose Library to:

Find articles in databases.

Search the catalog for e-books.

Place requests to borrow items.

Use tutorials on writing a paper or citation.

For help after hours you can Ask A Librarian through live chat, e-mail, or text.
