Other Access Options

The college no longer loans laptops on a semester basis.

A limited number of 4G hotspots are available to loan for eligible students with high need, subject to availability. Contact learningtechsupport@valenciacollege.edu or call 407-582-2889 to inquire about current availability and start the request process.

All campus libraries have computer labs and access to printing and scanning during open building hours. Libraries have some devices available for short term loans. Devices available for check-out vary by location. Larger libraries have laptops, iPads, calculators, headphones, etc. but no hotspots. If you are currently enrolled, check with your campus library to see if they have a device available for a few hours or for a week.

Cable, DSL, and Fiber Internet Service Providers

These utility providers have programs in place to provide internet service at affordable monthly prices.  You may want to check the provider first if you are unsure of your eligibility, or apply through the FCC Affordable Connectivity Program above if you know you meet the requirements. Many of these plans are in the $20 per month range or less.

Wireless 4G and 5G Providers

These cellular service companies provide affordable options you may be able to use for either 4G/5G hotspot or mobile phone plans. If you opt for a mobile phone plan, make sure it allows you to use your phone as a hotspot if you plan to use it to access the internet from a tablet or laptop.
