Assistive Technology Services in the West Campus Library: Software in the Library

A guide to help students, faculty, and staff get acquainted with technology and other resources available at the West Campus Library to assist OSD students.

Overview

The Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) provides a variety of assistive software programs to help students succeed in their courses. Some of the programs listed below are available on most of Valencia College's open access computers, but others have more limited availability. West Campus Library computers have all of the following software programs installed. Please see the "Contact" page of this guide to connect to the OSD for more information.

JAWS Screen Reading "Reads aloud what is on the computer screen and provides users with a unique set of navigational tools to allow access to all screen and web content." Available on all library computers.

MAGic Screen Magnification

"A screen magnification system with built-in enhancements to provide the user with access to all screen and web content." Available on all library computers.
Claro Read "A multi-sensory software solution designed to support reading, writing and studying skills. This software is available to all Valencia Students at no cost." Available on all library computers.
OneNote/Learning Tools by Microsoft
"Free tools that implement proven techniques to improve reading and writing for people regardless of their age or ability."
