Information about Valencia West Campus Library


The Circulation Desk at Valencia College West Campus Library is located on the 1st floor of Building 6. Students can check out, renew, and return materials. Our Reserve Collection is also housed at our circulation desk. 

How to Checkout, Renew, Return

A Valencia ID card (the borrower ID card) is required to check out materials. The Library does not accept a driver’s license or any other form of ID. The ID card is available from Security. All borrowers are responsible for materials checked out on their account and may not use another person’s ID to check out materials.

Valencia student borrower's maximum is 25 items checked out on their account. UCF and reciprocal borrowers' maximum is 5 items checked out on their account.


Renewing Material  In-person renewals may be requested on or before the due date (or up to 20 days after the due date). Have your Valencia ID handy. Online renewals can be made up to the day BEFORE an item is due. Note: Equipment (such as digital cameras, tablets, calculators, headphones, etc.) cannot be renewed online – equipment renewals can only be made in person.  Please note that some material cannot be renewed.

Returning Material Circulating items may be returned to any Valencia College Library. Return materials to the library's Check-Out/Circulation desk or the Book Drop located outside of the Library.

 Library staff will return materials belonging to other Valencia libraries.

Materials returned after library hours on the due date will NOT be considered overdue.

Materials are checked out in good condition unless otherwise noted in library records. Materials returned in poor condition (water damage, stains, underline or highlight markings, tears, etc.) will be charged to the borrower.

A librarian and library management decide the condition of the item.

Overdue Circulating Materials

A receipt is issued at the time materials are borrowed. This is the library's official notice of the due date. The due date is also available online through your library account. 

The borrower is responsible for returning materials on time or renewing them ON or BEFORE the due date.

  • Circulating Materials and Interlibrary Loan Materials - $.25 per day
  • Reserve Textbooks - $1.20 per hour, up to a maximum of $100.00
  • Other Reserve Materials up to a maximum of $100.00, depending upon the material.
  • Students with fines of $15 or greater may not check out any additional library materials nor renew any materials that are currently checked out.
     Materials returned more than 20 days after the due date will be declared LOST. The borrower will be assessed a lost replacement fee (based on the value of the material) and a $5.00 non-refundable processing fee.

Interlibrary Loans and Hold Requests

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) material is the property belonging to another institution and not Valencia College Library. Valencia students, staff, and faculty can make ILL requests for materials from other libraries. Faculty/staff/students from other institutions generate ILL requests through their home college library. ILL requests can be made online or in person.

Hold Requests are Valencia-owned material that can be requested online and picked up at one of our Valencia library locations. Not all material can be requested online.

Print, Copy, Scan at the library

We have two pay stations.

  • First-floor: Group-Study next to the computer access lab  
  • Second-floor: Quiet Study Zone

Printing Issue:  

You may request a refund for defective prints or copies from a Library staff member 

Refunds are only accepted for defective prints or copies which include:

  • Printer misfeeds or jams
  • Pages are smeared, have lines or "voids" or some other defect

 Refunds are not accepted for the following:

  • Accidentally printed the wrong document, page, etc.
  • Selected too many copies/sets of a document
  • Selected Color output instead of Black & White output
  • Using self-provided paper
  • Quality not good enough (other than outlined above)
  • Scans
The Valencia College libraries do not welcome solicitation of resources to be added to our LibGuides. This includes but is not limited to vendors, search engine optimizers, placement of ads, products, or any other requests. Our LibGuides are carefully curated resources developed in partnership with faculty, staff, and students to support specific assignments, courses, events, and other related purposes at Valencia College. The Valencia libraries reserve the right to ignore LibGuide resource solicitations, and/or block persistent requests from groups or individuals to add or promote links in our LibGuides.
