Not only do they provide a social function for connecting people within networks, they are also one of the fastest ways to distritbute news and to promote products and services. Each service has slightly different requirements for effective use and will deliver slightly differrent results. By researching the main platforms and techniques for posting to social media, you will be able to better understand how to distribute information to targeted audiences and within specific contexts.

In a typical minute on the internet (2021), the vast majority of data passes through social media platforms for professional, social, dating, and entertainment purposes.
