Quotations

Quotations of four lines or less should be placed in quotation marks and incorporated into your text.

Jazz Dancer I by Laura Wheeler Waring can be described as depicting "the quintessential Jazz Age couple" (Farrington 82).

With poetry, use a / to indicate a line break.

Langston Hughes remarks,"I've known rivers / Ancient, dusky rivers."

Long or Block Quotations

Quotations of more than four lines should be indented half an inch from the left margin in a block. Do not add quotation marks.
