Steps to Writing a Literature Review

  1. Choose and narrow your topic
  2. Create your search strategy 
  3. Search for literature relevant to your topic
  4. Read, summarize, and evaluate the literature
  5. Organize the literature and identify gaps and patterns
  6. Develop a thesis or purpose statement
  7. Write your paper
