King of the Bingo Game
The short story “King of the Bingo Game” was written by Ralph Ellison and is featured in his collection called Flying Home and Other Stories. The story is set in a movie theatre and bingo parlor in New York City. Several themes dominate this tale, including the alienation of the individual from society, one’s inability to control one’s fate, and the racial prejudices encountered by black men.
