The Monkey’s Paw


First published in 1902, “The Monkey’s Paw”  is the short story for which W. W. Jacobs is best known. ( It is part of his collection of short stories called The Lady of the Barge.)   “The Monkey’s Paw”  is a horror tale dealing with the supernatural.  Through this tale, the author warns that anyone who interferes with fate should be prepared to face dire consequences.
