Neighbors
The short story “Neighbors” by Raymond Carver was first published in Esquire magazine in 1971, introducing Carver’s work to a national audience. “Neighbors” is the story of two couples – the Miller’s and the Stone’s – who live in apartments across from each other. The primary themes explored in this story are invasion of privacy, and the mundane lives some people lead.
