The Shroud (The Little Shroud)
Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were German brothers and scholars who lived during the 1800’s. The brothers now are famous for the German folk and fairy tales that they collected, Grimms’ Fairy Tales. One short story from this collection is called “The Shroud” or “The Little Shroud.” This sad story concerns the spirit of a dead child who will not rest easily in his grave until his mother stops weeping for him.
