The Snows of Kilimanjaro

Written in 1936 “The Snows of Kilimanjaro” is one of Ernest Hemingway’s most famous short stories. It was first published in 1938 in his book The Fifth Column and Forty-Nine Stories.  Set in the African Savanna, the story is about Harry, a writer facing imminent death due to a gangrene infection.  In a series of flashbacks Harry reflects upon his life, his relationship with his wife, and the regrets he has for not having written the stories he wanted to write.
