A Worn Path

The short story “A Worn Path” is one of Eudora Welty’s earlier stories written in 1940 and first published in the Atlantic Monthly magazine.  It was later included in Eudora Welty’s first book A Curtain of Green which came out in 1941.  The story is about the love, courage, and goodness of an old, black woman Phoenix Jackson as she makes her weekly journey down a worn path to get soothing medicine for her chronically ailing grandson.
