Ballad of Birmingham

Dudley Randall wrote “The Ballad of Birmingham” in response to the September 15, 1963 bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama by the Ku Klux Klan. Four girls died in the bombing, and a number of other people were injured.
