The End and the Beginning (Koniec i poczatek)
Wislawa Szymborska (1923 - ) is a Nobel Prize-winning Polish poet. One of her poems is called “The End and the Beginning” (“Koniec i poczatek”), and in it she pointedly denounces warfare and tyranny. This poem comes from Szymborska’s 1993 collection with that same title. (Many comments concerning Szymborska’s work overall can be applied to this “The End and the Beginning” poem.)
