God’s Grandeur
Gerard Manley Hopkins was an English Roman Catholic priest who lived from 1844 to 1889. He expressed his love of nature by writing numerous beautiful poems. One of these, “God’s Grandeur,” is a sonnet that describes God’s wonderful creation of the natural world despite man’s attempt to smudge such glory with human works.
