The Good-Morrow
John Donne was a famous seventeenth-century English poet known for his complex love poems and religious poetry. “The Good-Morrow” depicts the thoughts of the poet as he reflects on the perfection of the love he shares with his lover. The poet sees the world of the lovers as complete and eternal, and all previous loves as preparation of and preludes to, this present love.
