Chronicle of a Death Foretold, a novel written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, was published in 1982. The novel concerns the events preceding and following the murder of a Colombian named Santiago Nasar by the Vicario brothers. The Vicario brothers believe that Nasar has damaged their sister’s honor.
