One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (the novel)


Published in 1962, this Ken Kesey novel takes place in a mental hospital in the late 1950s. Patient McMurty (Randall Patrick McMurty), a feisty misfit, upsets the quiet routine of a men’s mental ward by asserting his individuality, inspiring other patients to assert themselves and continually conflicting with head nurse, Nurse Ratched.
