Luncheon of the Boating Party

Pierre-Auguste Renoir was a well-known nineteenth-century French artist.  He was an Impressionist painter who stressed colors and light in his works rather than precise outlines.  Renoir’s famous painting, Luncheon of the Boating Party (1881), is now located in the Phillips Collection in Washington, D. C.  It depicts people at an outdoor lunch in Paris.
