Guernica
Pablo Picasso was a famous 20th-century Spanish artist. One of his most well-known surreal paintings, Guernica, was painted in 1937, and now is located in the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, in Madrid, Spain. Guernica depicts the bombing of a Spanish Basque town called Guernica by fascist forces during the Spanish Civil War, and it symbolizes war’s horrors.
