Cult of Osiris
Osiris was the Egytian god of the dead and of vegetation. He was also a fertility god with his death and resurrection representing the cyclical growth, death and rebirth of vegetation. The wife of Osiris was the goddess Isis. The cult of Osiris believed in life after death and the judgement of the dead. The cult spread throughout the Mediterranean in the last 600 years B.C.
