Veiled Orant
An orant or orans is a praying figure, frequently depicted in Early Christian art, especially in the Roman catacombs. One example, sometimes referred to as “Woman with a Veil,” appears on the walls of the Catacomb of Priscilla and shows a veiled woman with outstretched arms.
