What's a scholarly article? These are articles that appear in academic journals (also called peer-reviewed, refereed, or scholarly journals). Scholarly articles are original research or analysis of a literary work.

  • authors are experts and their credentials and affiliation are given
  • lots of citations
  • language is more technical and scholarly
  • articles tend to be long

When searching the catalog, be sure to limit to West Campus and books or eBooks before you search.

Google Scholar

Set up Google Scholar to show articles in Valencia databases:

  • Click on Settings.
  • Click on Library Links.
  • Search for Valencia College.
  • Check off box next to Valencia College.

After doing a search, look at the right hand side of the results screen.
