Guide to Using Video: Linking to Videos in Canvas

Embedding a Films on Demand Video

Linking to Kanopy and Swank Videos

Videos from Kanopy and Swank can be inserted into Canvas as you would any other link from a web site. Your librarian will send you the link to use when you request a license for a title.

For titles already licensed in Kanopy :

  • Copy the URL from the browser toolbar.
  • Kanopy's embed codes also seem to work, but it is recommended to also include a link as a best practice, since students sometimes have trouble with embedded videos.

For titles already licensed in Swank:

Copy the URL from Swank and keep only the yellow piece, i.e. the part that begins with valencia310687. Add that piece to https://digitalcampus.swankmp.net. Use the resulting URL. Ask your librarian if you need assistance.
