Welcome Lake Nona Campus Faculty and Staff

During the closure of campuses due to COVID-19 the Valencia College Libraries are offering additional online support for both faculty and students. As you acclimate to distance learning the library is here to support you through eResources, online support, and student reference assistance both by referral and in your online classroom as an embedded librarian.

***Late Items: Don't worry, items currently checked-out will not be considered late. Please wait until the campus reopens to return any items to the library. If you have any questions contact Daisy Hidalgo, Library Services Supervisor

Using Library Resources in Your Online Classroom

The Lake Nona Campus Library is available to assist faculty members as they transition their courses online

  • Use Ask a Librarian service to get your questions answered. This service is available to both students and faculty should you need immediate assistance.
  • Embed library content in your Canvas course
  • Contact Emilie Buckley to find and access digital resources and content to incorporate into your course.
  • Support students by embedding a librarian in your Canvas course
    • Librarians can be added to your Canvas course as a TA. We are not able to grade or work with assignments but this is a great opportunity for students to interact with us in a research-focused discussion board. This tutorial shows how to add a TA to your course. Please reach out to Emilie if you would like to use this feature.
  • Access library instruction virtually. Schedule your library instruction session and select virtual/online as your modality.
