Quick Start Library Guide: West Campus

Use this handy guide to learn about and gain access to all the library resources from home or on-the-go!

Good to Know, Summer 2022

  • Students will be expected to check in when entering the West Campus Library Building 6 this Summer.
  • West Campus Library Building 6, 1800 S. Kirkman, Orlando, FL, 32811
  • Summer Hours will be Monday-Thursday, 8am-7pm; Friday 8am-12pm; closed on Saturdays and Sundays 
  • Library virtual hours for West Campus Library will be Monday-Thursday, 10am-9pm, Friday 10am-5pm, and Saturday 9am-4pm. Ask-A-Librarian
  • *Note: All libraries will close with the college the following dates in the summer: June 3rd, June 10th, June 17th, June 24th, July 1st, July 4th.

Materials Checked Out?

If you are on campus, you can return your book to the campus library. You can also return your books any time using the drive-up library book drop in front of Building 6.  We request you return all laptops or devices checked out from the library to the circulation desk inside the library.  

Study Room Access

The Group Study Room (1st floor) and Quiet Study Room (2nd floor) may be reserved at:

Online services are available:

  • Use Ask a Librarian service to get your questions answered
  • Embed library content in your Canvas course
  • Collaborate with liaison librarians to find and access digital resources and content
  • Support students by embedding a librarian in your Canvas course
    • Librarians can be added to your Canvas course using the Librarian role. 

    • Reach out to your liaison librarian to learn more.

  • Access library instruction virtually. Schedule your library instruction session and select virtual/online as your modality.

West Campus Library Building 6 Orientation

Here is what our library in building 6 has to offer:

Other On-Site Services:

  • The library is equipped with assistive technologies.
  • Print, scan & copy: Prints & copies are $.20 / page for color or $.10 / page for black & white. Scanning is $.04 / page. There is also a second, free scanner in the library on the second floor. Students scan their Valencia ID card to pay; reload online or at a PaperCut kiosk in the library. (Find student tutorials here.)
  • Recycling stations are available on each floor; students can drop off ink cartridges at the Reference desk.
The Valencia College libraries do not welcome solicitation of resources to be added to our LibGuides. This includes but is not limited to vendors, search engine optimizers, placement of ads, products, or any other requests. Our LibGuides are carefully curated resources developed in partnership with faculty, staff, and students to support specific assignments, courses, events, and other related purposes at Valencia College. The Valencia libraries reserve the right to ignore LibGuide resource solicitations, and/or block persistent requests from groups or individuals to add or promote links in our LibGuides.
